THIRTY YEARS AT WIMBLEDON Fr. Robert Dalrympk, who has been on the staff of the Church of the Sacred Heart, Wimbledon, for practically the last thirty years, died somewhat unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 25, at the Wimbledon lloapital *here he had undei gone an operation some days previously.
Born in Accrington in 1870, and educated at Stonyhurst, he joined the Society of Jesus on September 7. 1890, and followed the usual course of studies during which he taught at St. 'John's, Beaumont, being ordained priest at St. Beuno's College on September 24, 1905. On completing his studies he was appointed in 1907 Superior at St. John's, the Preparatory School of Beaumont College.
In 1913 ee was transferred to the Church of the Sacred heart, Wimbledon, and there he spent the rest of his priestly life.
A Solemn Dirge was sung in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Wimbledon. on Friday evening and a Solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated there on Saturday morning by the Very Reverend Francis Mangan (Provinciel), assisted as Deacpn and Subdeecon, respectively, by the Rector of Wimbledon (Fr. J. Bickerstaff) and Father J. Holland. The chief mourner was Mr. R. J. Dalrymple, a nephew of the deceased priest. The Rector of Wimbledon officiated at the graveside in Wimbledon Cemetery.
