Parishioner murdered
FOR THE second time in less than two weeks a Catholic com
munity has been shocked by the brutal murder of one of its members.
The latest tragedy took place in Harlow, Essex, where the body of
Mrs May Chambers was found last Friday. The previous week Fr Edward Hull and his housekeeper were attacked in the presbytery of St Ethelbert's church, Ramsgate. Fr Hull died at once and Miss Lelean four days later.
Mrs Chambers, who was 61, was a founder member of the parishes of Our Lady of Fatima and of the Assumption in Harlow.
Fr Paul Boland CRIC, parish priest of Our Lady of Fatima said: "She was a great Scottish Catholic and will be well remembered for her warm and outgoing personality, bringing joy and strength to those privileged to know her." She was "a loyal and stau nch parishioner",
