Mgr. Frederick Donaghy. 47year-old American Bishop cif Wuebow, Southern China. was arrested with two priests by the Communists during the Christmas holidays, states a message received at Maryknoll Mission headquarters in New York.
The priests are Fr. George Gilligan and Fr. Justin Kennedy. both of New York.
All are Maryknoll Missionaries.
Mgr. Donaghy was consecrated as Vicar Apostolic of Wuchow 11 years ago and became its firm Ordinary when the diocese was established in 1946.
A Chinese priest and a Maryknotl Sister were arrested at the same time. Their names are unknown.
