fr HE REV. PETER HACKER, who has served the Camberwell Anglican mission since his ordination in 1937, was received into the Church at Downside Abbey last week.
An outstanding theologian, Mr. Hacker was a member of the Annunciation Group and is understood to be the author of the Group's anonymously published answer to Dr. Mescal], the wellknown Anglican theologian who has recently been in controversy with Fr. Anthony Stephenson. Si., on the subject of Anglican Orders.
The Annunciation Group is the association of Anglican clergy and laity who argue for Catholic doctrine and continuity of succession in the Anglican Church.
Prominent among them was Mr. Hugh Ross Williamson prior to his becoming a Catholic.
