Anti-clerical campaign in Italy

Communist newspapers in Italy have started a special anti-clerical campaign, reported Osservatore Romano on Monday. It said that Communist papers are charging that priests are now "creating" miracles in remote villages so that people will vote for the Christian Democratic Party in the forthcoming municipal elections.
" With the approach of the elections, the Communists have resumed their anti-clerical propaganda." said the paper. "They suggest that the traditional religious celebrations are prepared, with fantastic flourishing of miracles, for the express purpose of the campaign for the elections."
