WHEN A Catholic layman launched an ecumenical society based on devotion to Our Lady. his best friends told him it would get nowhere.
This year sees the sixth international congress of the Ecumenical Society of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The dream of Martin Gillett, its founder, seems to be coming true, with a dozen centres of the society in Britain and Ireland and a branch in the USA.
This year's congress, open to members and non-members, takes place at Blackrock College, Dublin. from April 24 to 28.
Speakers include an American Lutheran. Professor Eric Gritsch.
