BLAZE OF SPLENDOUR ENDING MARY'S YEAR

Evening Masses, Iwo coronations, three nett churches in Britain
MARY'S YEAR, commemorating the centenary of the proclamation of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception, is ending in a world-wide blaze of splendour honouring the Queen of Heaven.
The Holy 1 :tiller —as reported above—is still hoping to take part in the ceremonies on Wednesday in the Basilica of St. Mary Major. Radio Eireann is relaying all the ceremonies at 3 p.m.
Four Papal Legates arc preparing to preside at National Marian Congresses in India, Nigeria and Peru. and at the final celebrations in 1.otirdes.
In this country Mary's Dowry— Our Lady's Year will end as it began, with numerous Masses in the evening. many of them celebrated by Bishops in their cathedrals.
In I ondon -in the West End and in Southwark — there will be two solemn coronations of Our Lady.
At Willesden
in oilier parts of the country three churches dedicated to Our Lady will he opened with evening Mass on the eve of the feast.
The Cardinal Archbishop will sing Terce and Solemn Mass in Westminster Cathedral at 10 a.m, on Wednesday. and at Ft p.m. he will assist and preach at Pontifical Mass in the • Church of Our Lady of Willesden. where is enshrined the statue of Our Lady and the Divine Child which he solemnly crowned at Wembley.
At the same hour in the evening Bishop Cowderoy will sing Pontifical High Mass in the Southwark ProCathedral and solemnly crown the historic statue of Our Lady of St.
George's the first statue of the Mother of God to be publicly exposed for veneration in this country Tiller the Reformation. Evening Masses will he celehrated at about the same time in every church and public chapel in the Southwark Continued on page 14
