German Catholics' Gift to Spain

One hundred and forty-seven cases. weighing ten tons, and containing valuable gifts for Spanish churches destroyed by the Reds during the Civil War, have arrived in Madrid, and represent only a third of the consignment which is being forwarded by German Catholics.
Further cases are following, and the gifts, which include chalices and vestments of exceptional value, are being exhibited in the Madrid Circulo de Belles Artes. The total value of the consignment is said to be in the neighbourhood of two million pesetas, i.e., £40,000.
