Is there any hope of developing small ownership to-day?
This was the theme of a weekend on small ownership held at Spode House. Staffordshire.
Yes, was the reply of Mr. Reginald Jebb, who used recent strikes to show that workers are feeling frustrated and are in revolt against being " bossed." He argued that the evidence suggests that there is a desire for responsibility and for ownership.
Yen, replied Mr. R. P. Walsh, Editor of the Catholic Worker, who presented a survey of the amount of small ownership existing in Britain and described the various opportunities that exist for people who wish to become independent.
Yes, replied Mr. Paul Derrick, who spoke on co-partnership, which he suggested was a way of bringing ownership into a large industry.
