Angolan visit
BISHOPS from Marxist controlled Angola were in Rome last week for a meeting with Pope John Paul. They were making their first visit to Rome since the Portuguese colony was taken over in 1975.
Uganda gaoling
A PRIEST imprisoned in Uganda for a week without charge has been released on the orders of President Obote. Fr Charles Bwenyu has been arrested by troops and held in Kampala central police station.
Polish memorial
A WARSAW committee is planning a monument to Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski, the Primate of Poland who died in May. His successor, Archbishop Jozef Glemp is supporting the scheme.
