Centenary Booklet of Birmingham Cathedral

A booklet-souvenir of the celebrations of the centenary of the opening of the Metropolitan Basilica of Si. Chad's, Birmingham, will be offered for sale on March 3, the feast of the Titular of the Cathedral. St. Chad's was recently given the " status " of a minor basilica, and its administrator, Mgr. John Canon Roskell, who has held the office for a longer period than any of his predecessors, was made a Domestic Prelate. An informative chapter in this illustrated booklet gives the history and meaning of a basilica. Its sale will give financial aid to Mgr. Roskell, who had to shoulder heavy expense in the renovation of the old edifice, made doubly harder 'later on after the building bore the scars of the air raids of last winter.
