H.M.V. April Recordings.
Schumann : Concerto in A minor (DB 6373-6). The piano solo is played by the great Chilean pianist Claudio Arran. and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra is cenducted by Karl Krueger. A fresh and vital performance; most successful recording.
The Halle Orchestra conducted by Barbirolli is heard in Weber's overture, " Euryanthe."
Gwen Catley with orchestra conducted by Stanford Robinson, is heard to great advantage in the famous " Bell Song" from "Lakme" (Delibes).
with the Royal Opera House Orchestra, sings " Manon " Ah Dispar vision-" Manon " and Ah, non ml Ridestar-"Werther."
Joan Hammond with the Philharmonia Orchestra is heard in Elsa's dream from Loherigrin and Elizabeth's greeting from Tannhauser, (Wagner).
Prince Igor's Aria-No rest, no peace-(Borodin) : here the vocalist is John Hargreaves. accompanied by the Philharmonia Orchestra.
Chopin's Polonaise in A flat major, soloist Malcuzynski. We sincerely hope to have further recordings by
