Paul in pictures

The Life of St Paul, by Abbe Gaston Courtois. (Augustine Publishing Company, Devon, £1.45).
I THINK only an eleven or twelve year old boy could properly review this book. but trying to put myself in his shoes. I think I would like it both now and in the future.
I would like it now because it is a series of 176 black and white illustrations of the life of St Paul taken almost exclusively from the Acts of the Apostles. Underneath each picture are six or seven lines either taken straight from Acts or explaining what something means, e.g. the "Me" in "Saul. Saul. why are you persecuting me?"
I think I wouk: like it later because it has a useful glossary at the beginning of words I would need when studying religion. but which I might not otherwise be able to find easily. I would also like it because it is the sort of book I would become very familiar with, and which would find a corner in my book case which would become an old friend, and perhaps be remembered when studying for '0' levels because of the maps of Paul's missionary journeys both in one picture and in the back cover.
Although this book was composed as long ago as 1936, in Fra,nce, it looks as though it will stand Tile test of time now in .198.2.— Any child reading it, however. will find he cannot treat it as a comic. He might find he has to go slower than he wishes and thus take it in small doses. But if allowed to set his own pace he has much to gain.
One small criticism — it might have helped if room had been found for a map of the modern eastern Mediterranean.
