Refugee THE REFUGEE COUNCIL held its AGM at Westminster Central Hall on Wednesday 30 November. The keynote speech was given by Ian Martin, former SecretaryGeneral of Amnesty International.

Fairtrade ANOTHER FaiirrEADE-marked tea hit the market this week. The Fairtrade Foundation was set up a year ago to provide an independent guarantee of a better deal for Third World producers. The Fairtrade initiative enjoys the support of leading church figures, including the Anglican Bishop of Oxford.
Celebration
A cut ERRAT1ON OF Christmas, attended by HRH Princess Katherine of Yugoslavia, will be held at the Guard's Chapel, Wellington Barracks, London SW1 on Wednesday 7 December, in aid of the New Bridge Appeal to send aid to the Balkans.
