Consistory Likely Next Spring

There will be a Consistory early next spring, reports British United Press, quoting " reliable quarters in Vatican City," at which six new Cardinals will be named to fill the Sacred College.
The candidates, according to this message, are Mgr. Ritter, Archbishop of St. Louis; Mgr. Dalton, Archbishop of Armagh; and the Archbishop of either Cincinnati, Baltimore or San Francisco ; of these, Mgr. J. T. MacNicholas, of Cincinnati, is considered most likely.
The source denied the rumour that Mgr. Stepinac would be made a Cardinal, but said that Mgr, Beran, recently appointed Archbishop of Prague, might well be. Another German Cardinal was thought probable, most likely, Mgr. Grober, Archbishop of Freiburg, and one Italian in the Archbishopric of Genoa, The Pope received, on Thursday last, the delegates to the International Congress of Philosophy, meeting in Rome, headed by Jacques Maritain, French Ambassador to the Holy See,
