Charity worker to run for Christians in Galilee

THE HEAD of press and information at the charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) is taking part in a sponsored half-marathon in aid of Christians in the Holy Land.
John Pontifex is hoping to raise money to support Christian communities in the Galilee region of northern Israel by running 13 miles around Wandsworth Common, south London.
ACN is linking the run to the charity’s Westminster Cathedral event on September 29, at which Archbishop Elias Chacour of Galilee will give the homily, as well as the keynote speech in the hall afterwards.
Money raised from the run – taking place a day after the Westminster event – will go towards a youth day in Archbishop Chacour’s diocese with processions and religious celebrations, including Mass, dance and other activities.
