State knowledge

From Mrs Margaret M Dunne Sir, I would like to refute Robert Pellegrinetti's assertion (letter, Nov 21) that Eric Hester has no knowledge of state education. The last 16 years of my teaching life were spent in a state school: St. Joseph's High School, Horwich, Bolton.
The majority of those years were during Mr Hester's headship. His dedicated service enhanced the already good reputation of the school.
Personally I find myself in total agreement with him and I thank God daily that I do not have to endure the living nightmare that teaching seems to have become.
