BLESSED OLIVER PLUNKET 4,000 Leave Belfast for Martyr's Shrine

From a Special Correspondent
Six special trains carrying over 4,000 pilgrims left Belfast for Drogheda on Sunday last. Mgr. Mageean, Bishop of Down and Connor, and priests from every parish in the city accompanied the pilgrims to the shrine of Blessed Oliver Plunket.
The pilgrims' march through the streets of Drogheda to St. Peter's church, where the head of the martyred Archbishop is enshrined. was an imposing sight. A brass hand played the hymns which the pilgrims sang on the march to the church. All classes of people were represented in the vast throng. Over 200 Catholic Boy Scouts assisted the stewarding.
Mgr. Lyons met the pilgrims outside the church. After a short address on the object of their great pilgrimage that day, by the Bishop, prayers were offered for the cause dear to the heart of every Irish man and woman : the early canonisation of that illustrous martyr, followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
