COUNTERING " WORKERS' BOOKSHOPS"

SIR.—Could not something be done to counteract the deadly influence of the " Workers' Bookshops," which are springing up and flourishing everywhere?
The windows of the one I pass daily in Frarringdon Road, E.C., are filled with calumnious literature, displayed so that the passer-by can read the choicest passages, and, moreover, there is usually a small crowd so doing.
If only a "Catholic Workers' Bookshop" could be opened near to each of these; or even a stall set up in the vicinity; or perhaps zealous apostles of the faith could sell our literature outside, it would be better than to allow this poisonous work to proceed with impunity.
Can we not attack and not for ever remain on the defensive? Cannot something be done soon?
PHYLLIS M, HALE.
