The Faith In Action

BUDAPEST WEDNESDAY NIGHT
Budapest is athrill with Catholic movement and sentiment. Every church had every altar occupied during the whole morning with priests from every country.
The streets, thronged with prelates, officials and humble pilgrims, are moving streams of colour and excitement.
Pilgrims of every tongue, costume and complexion have crowded hotels, guest houses, hostels and even the temporary accommodation which has been specially erected.
All day resplendent national delegations have been arriving or dashing about the twin city making their calls of respect.
MIssage from Pope
Cardinal Pacelli has delivered the official message from the Pope blessing the Congress and Hungary.
Cardinal Hlond, the Primate of Poland, is here; Cardinal Goma, Primate of Spain, is here (though General Moscardo, at the last moment could not come) and was greeted with loud cries of Arriba; Cardinal van Rooey is here; Cardinal Kaspar is here and said that by his presence he wished to prove that in Czechoslovakia peace and calm reign; Cardinal Verdier is here and arrived amid cries of Vive La France.
Scores of Cardinals
There seem to be scores of Cardinals, and most of them appeared to be present at the Solemn High Mass with which Cardinal Seredi, the Primate of Hungary, opened the Congress.
With all these great ones there are uncounted thousands of the humble come to join with them in this wonderful expression of faith and devotion.
