NUN SHOT IN ALGERIA

White Sister kidnapped by rebels
pRENCH troops fighting Algerian
nationalist rebels in Kabylie have found the bullet-riddled body of one of the two White Sisters of Africa who were kidnapped on September 13.
The murdered nun was Sister Pierre Fourier (Marie de Tullien).
Her companion, Sister Francois SatanĀ° (Dorothee Dube), a Canadian nun, was discovered in a state of prostration. She was able, however, to tell authorities that Sister Pierre Fourier had been shot by the rebels.
It was believed that the rebels wanted to rid themselves of both the nuns but, because they had to escape quickly. did not have time to kill sister Francois Solano.
At the time of the kidnapping. the Superior of the White Sisters' convent in Algiers received a note from the rebels sating that the nuns were in good condition and that they would be released after they had cared for the rebel wounded.
