ST. PHILIP'S SECONDARY SCHOOLS ATHLETIC CHAMPIONS For the first time in the history of the school St. Philip's Grammar School, Birmingham, secured the championship at the Birmingham and District Secondary Schools Athletic Sports held on the Birchfield Harriers' Ground on May 20.
The outstanding performance was the winning of the senior team in fine style; this event is always the keenest in the meeting. St. Philip's, which numerically is smaller than most of the other Birmingham Grammar Schools who take part in this meeting, have persevered year after year, and they have now crowned their efforts by bringing the championship into Catholic hands for the first time.
