Beauraing

slit,Travelling in Belgium last autumn, I visited, almost by chance, Beauraing, where Our Blessed Lady appeared in 1932. My companions and I were most interested in the history of the apparitions, of which there were more than 30, and, indeed, in the sleepy market town and its simple shrine. as yet untouched by the gloss of a million pilgrims.
The apparition at Beauraing is one of the most recently acknowledged of Our Blessed Lady, and as yet the devotion has not spread to this country, though there have been many thousands of pilgrims from the Continent.
All of the five children to whom She appeared are alive; all are married with families, and two still live in this, their native town. They were given a special message to the world, no less than the conversion of sinners through prayer and action.
Beauraing is near us here in the "Dowry of Mary," yet we do not know of it. Many who cannot afford the time or the money for the long journeys to Lourdes or Fatima would welcome a pilgrimage to such a holy spot, and could combine it, perhaps, with a tour through the interesting. historical and religious country of our neighbour, Belgium.
Could not one of our travel agencies gain our thanks by organising such a tour?
