PATRIARCH Gregorios III of Antioch and all of the East, of Alexandria, and of Jerusalem, was guest of honour at a dinner hosted by the Delegate of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George, Anthony Bailey, in central London.
The Patriarch spoke warmly of the interfaith activities of the Constantinian Order across the Middle East and urged its members to continue their work in his troubled part of the world.
Over 120 people attended including the Order’s Grand Prefect, The Duke of Calabria, Dr Meglena Kuneva, Minister for European Integration of Bulgaria, the Ambassadors of Bulgaria, Morocco, South Africa, Syria and Tunisia, Lord Denman, Lord and Lady Brennan, Jim Dobbin, MP, Bishop Yussef Jules Zrayi of Egypt and Sudan, the Very Rev Father Simeon Iliev of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Canon Jonathan Gough, Fr Mark Elvins, Fr Shafiq Abouzayd, Canon Flora Winfield, Fr Michael Seed and Sister Ellen Flynn. Earlier in the day Patriarch Gregorios III, the Duke of Westminster and Sir Sigmund Sternberg were invested into the dynastic orders at a ceremony at Westminster Cathedral.
The Patriarch was also received by Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, the Archbishop of Westminster, during the same visit.
