The appearance of the first numbers of Social Justice recall to mind the growth of the movement for social reform in accordance with the teaching of the Popes. The new paper with eight well-filled sheets selling in India for 5 cents (a penny) is edited by Fr. Peter A Pillai, O.M.I.
The matter is of a high standard and the attention of sociologists should be drawn to an article on " The Problem of Poverty in Ceylon," by S. J. K. Crowther, the contents of which arc summarised in the present issue of the Catholic Herald.
Fr. Pillars inaugural address as Director of the Catholic Social Guild in Ceylon as a pamphlet is obtainable for 4d, from thr C.S.G., St. Peter's College, Bambalapitiya, Ceylon.
