Rev James Repine!l has died, aged 65. He was parish priest of St Marie's, Bury, since 1968. James Aspinall was born in Burnley and educated for the priesthood at St. Bede's College, Manchester, and the Collegium Canisianum, Innsbruck, Austria. He was ordained priest in St. Mary's, Burnley, on
August 1 Fs 1941 r.lispinall served as assistant priest at St. John, Chorlton, 1941SO; St. Joseph, Bolton, 1950-54: Mount Carmel, Blackley, 1954-59; and St. Ann, Stretford, 1959-61. From 1961 to 1968 he was chaplain to H.M. Prison, Strangeways, Manchester before becoming parish priest of St. Marie, Bury.
Fr Cyril Field of St Gregory's, Earlsfield. London, died last week. aged 66.
Born in Milford, Co Cork in 1916, he entered the Salvatorians in 1941. Ordained at Christleton Hall, Chester September 21, 1946, he served as bursar at Christleton; then Prefect of Students and Superior at St Mary's College, Sindlesham, Reading, 1950 to 1955.
Then he went to Salvatorian College, Harrow Weald as a teacher in the preparatory school. In 1960 he moved to Christ the King, Thornbury, Gloucestershire, as assistant priest and later to Holy Cross, Wotton-underEdge as priest in charge.
In 1966 he was appointed as Vocations Director; 1969 he was appointed parish priest of St Edmund's, Horndean, Portsmouth, where he remained until 1977 when ill health forced him to retire to his native Ireland.
From 1978 to 1979 he was parish priest at Alcester, returning to Wotton-under-Edge as priest in charge until October of 1980.
He died on the morning of June 3rd at St James's Hospital. Balham, London.
