NEW PARISH IN LONDON'S MAYFAIR

-L• ARLY next year the 1.4 Jecasit Church of the Immaculate Conception, Farm Street, Mayfair, deep in the heart of London's West End, will be able to perform marriages. Westminster diocesan authorities and the Jesuits have agreed in principle that the church will become a parish church.
The new parish will be carved out of the existing one served by the Church of the Assumption and St. Gregory, Warwick Street.
As Cardinal Heenan is in Rome for the last session of the Council the necessary formalities are unlikely to he completed until the beginning of the New Year.
Fr. Thomas Corbishley, S.J., Superior at Farm Street, is expected to be the new parish priest. He told the CATHOLIC HERALD this week that although the changes will bring extra work to the church, much will be made easier by the setting up of the traditional parish organisations which Farm Street at the moment lacks.
