Indian faithful attend retreat

A RETREAT took place in the parish of St Bride's, Cambuslang, near Glasgow from October 2 to October 4 in the Syro-Malabar Rite.
Each day the retreat lasted from 11 am to 8 pm and approximately 400 people attended on each day. Families were drawn from all over Britain and one family even came all the way from Germany just to attend the retreat. The retreat was arranged by the Diocese of Motherwell in consultation with the SyroMalabar Bishops Synod in India. Fr Sebastian KaIlath, who belongs to the Vincentian Congregation and hails' from Kerala, is in Scotland looking after the pastoral care for Indians in Motherwell Diocese.
He had the inspiration to hold the retreat for thei30 Indian families in the Diocese of Motherwell. It was led by Vincentian Fathers who were helped by a Clarist Sister.
The celebrations were conducted in the Syro-Malabar Rite, the rite of one of the most vibrant churches in the Oriental Rites.
