PLANS FOR OXFORD'S CHAPLAINCY Catholic Association's Annual Report

The report of the Oxford University Catholic Association, just issued, shows that the names of some 70 new members were added to the register of the Association. Subscriptions amounted to nearly £218.
The fond for the ea nonisation statue of St. Thomas More reached i:63 and the statue, executed by Mr J. M. Foley, has now been erected in the chapel.
The committee purchased in the name of the Newman Trustees several cottages adjoining the present chaplaincy. These were demolished and will enable the chapel and the hall to be widened if desired, and meantime provide the chaplain with a pleasant garden.
In addition the opening of their south. windows is a great and permanent improvement to the chapel and hall. The Association contributed the BUM of £448 towards this acquisition. MGR. KNOX
The report refers to the resignation of Mgr. Knox, " who has served us with such devotion and brilliant success for Bain*: thirteen years."
The President of the Association for 1939 La the Rt. Hon. Lord Rankcillour of Buxted, and the secretaries are Prof. F. de Zutueta, Fellow of All Souls' College, and Prof. J. R. R. Tolkien, Fellow of Pembroke.
