PRESENTATION TO CANON FITZGERALD

A cheque for £600 and an illuminated address were presented to Canon Thomas Fitzgerald, parish priest of Commercial Road, East London, last week, when parishioners and friends gathered together to offer their rector their con
gratulations on his appointment as a Canon of the Metropolitan Chapter of Westminster.
The Rev. J. Leigh, senior curate presided assisted by his fellow curates and priests from neighbouring parishes and the archdiocese. The Catholic Mayor and Mayoress of Stepney, Alderman and Mrs. T. Aylward, were also present.
