DOUGLAS HYDE'S COLUMN
The Reds and the Rosenbergs
S evidence of the new antiSemitism of the Communist Governments of East Europe mounts, the Daily Worker makes
increasing use of the case of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. They are the young Jewish couple who were sentenced to death in the United States for being concerned in the passing of atomic information to the Soviet Union.
The paper's indignant denials that there is any anti-Semitism behind the Iron Curtain are published side by side with reports and pictures of the two American Jews whose cause they are exploiting. This juxtaposition is intended to suggest that the Communists are, after all, the champions of the Jews.

(It is not easy for headmasters and mistresses to do this nowadays with the interval of national service.) And to pray for this great and vital field which is white unto harvest.
