A week after his Seth birthday, Fr. Richard Ostuund Campbell, 0.5.13., a former parish priest of the Liverpool Arcediocese died last week. He celebrated lilt diamond Juhilee of ordination four years ago and had been 70 years a monk. Born In the nedlands he Joined the Benedictine Community at Douai Abbey in France After ordination he was for a time professor at Belmont Abbey, which wan the common novitiate for the English Berledletmes. He was appointed a Canon of the diocese of Newoort and Menevia by Bishop Iledley and was the lam surviving member or the old Benedictine Chapter. .He served as assistent priest el Swansea and Birtiey (Co. Durham) and was for 20 years parish priest at Bridgerel. Glamorgan, While there he played cricket for the county. lie was also an accomplished organist. Shortly after the oeibreak of World War Il. he was ABBO1Bltd Parish priest of St. Beam's, Netherton. He retired In September 1957 and the parish was taken over by the secular clergy. His last years were spent at St. Elizabeth's, Scarishriek Fr. Joseph Keaton Fr. Joseph Keaton, parish priest of St, Maudalenc's, Gainers. Burnley. died on Saturday, aged Si.Born in :Slane:tester, he was educated at St Francis Xavier'a College, 1 iverpool, St. Michael's College, Wincoski, U.S.A., and Grand Seminnire, Sens. krance. He was ordained in 1921 at Sens. He served AS assistant priest at St. Anne's, Blackburn; St. John's, Roth' dale; Se John's, Padiham; St. John's Cathedral, Salford: All Saints', Melon-anliwell and St. John the BMW. Nelson. irons 1944 until 1947 he was oarish Priest of Si, George's, Nelson; from 1947 until 1951 he was parish priest of Sr. Joseph's. Bury.
NEARLY 70 PRIESTS of the Plymouth diocese were present at Poole on Tuesday when Bishop Restieaux blessed and opened the new £50,000 church of Saint Joseph and Saint Walburga the largest opened in the diocese since the war.
