FORMER Prime Minister Tony Blair will debate with author Christopher Hitchens the role of faith.
The debate, over whether religion is a force for peace or conflict in the world, will take place on November 26 at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, at the sixth semi-annual Munk Debate.
Mr Blair, who converted to Catholicism in Decem ber 2007, will argue in favour of faith, against the author of God is Not Great, who revealed earlier this year he was dying of cancer of the oesophagus.
Despite their different views on religion, the two are mutual admirers, with Mr Hitchens being one of the most prominent advocates for the US-led invasion of Iraq, which Mr Blair strongly supported.
