Honoured nun warns the press

AN Australian nun who was made a dame in the Birthday Honours list has said she detests the title and anyone calling her dame will be in trouble.
Sr Mary Phillippa, a Sister of Mercy from East Melbourne, the first Australian nun to be made a Dame Commander of the British Empire, said she only accepted the honour because she was told to.
"While I may have to take a vow of chastity I am a liberated woman." She said and added that it was ridiculous to give her the honour as what she had done had all been team work.
One bishop, one monsignor, one nun and at least eight lay people received honours in the Queen's Birthday Honours list. Bishop Francis Walmsley, the Bishop in Ordinary to Her Majesty's Forces, who has pastoral responsibility for Catholic servicemen and women in 300 places from Hong Kong to Belize, has been made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
Dr Noel Moynihan, the chairman of the Save the Children Fund, has received a knighthood for his work with children all over the world. Sir Noel, a former pupil of Ratcliffe College, Leicester is already a Knight of St Gregory, a Knight of Malta and a Commander of the Venerable Order of St John.
