the election is unlikely to be the topic chosen by Archbishop Bruno Ileim. the Apostolic Delegate, when he speaks to clergy of seven denominations at Ealing, West London, next Thursday.
Ealing Catenian Circle have combined their annual clergy dinner with an ecumenical evening at the new parish centre of Ealing Abbey. Mr. Bernard Kaukas, Ealing president, said more than 100 would be attending the dinner, to which 18 clergy had been invited. He said a rabbi will join the guests after the meal.
Those expected to attend inelude a Salvation Army brigadier. an Anglican canon, ministers of the Methodist, United Reformed and Baptist Churches, and nine priests from neighbouring parishes. They include Fr. Peter Phillips, of Ealing Deanery and Abbot Francis Rossiter, 0.S.B., of Ealing Abbey.
An exhibition of 300 brass rubbings made by the boys of St. Gerard's School, Clapham, London, will form the centre of an exhibition of medieval clothes, vestments and armour to be opened to the public at the school next Wednesday by ITV newscaster Gordon lioneycombe.
