A NEW RED CAMPAIGN

Scientific propaganda among youth
THE Soviet Government last THE ordered a new campaign of atheistic and scientific propaganda among the youth of Russia to win them away from belief in God.
The aid of teachers and professors in schools, colleges and universities, said a Government statement. should be enlisted. Dramatic societies are to put on more scientific atheistic and propaganda plays.
Since the end of the war, in particular, the Government has launched one such campaign after another to combat religious belief among young people.
It is probable that this latest one is prompted in part by the fact that just across the border in Communist Poland the influence of the Church has recently increased to a significant extent. This may very well in time have its effect within the Soviet Union, since large numbers of Russian troops, technicians and others are constantly coming and going between the two countries.
