Body-parts bail
THE NEPHEW of the Duke of _Norfolk, Anthony NoelKelly, appeared before Horseferry Road magistrates' court on Monday 18 August charged with stealing human body-parts. He was remanded on unconditional bail and will return before magistrates on 26 September.
Mr Noel-Kelly, who was questioned by police in March this year after he admitted in a magazine interview using stolen bodyparts to create plaster casts which he then gilds, did not speak during the five minute hearing. He has been charged under the 1994 Anatomy Act, which makes it illegal to use body parts without consent; licences are granted by the Department of_Health for the use of cadavers for teaching or medical research. The Act further stipulates that such remains be given a proper burial or cremation after three years.
Lisieux opera
LISIEUX in Normandy, home of the Basilica of St Therese, will play host to members of Opera Italiana Society on the weekend of the 5th September, for two concerts given by the Rossini Chamber Orchestra at Chateau Canon in Mezidon.
The Holy Father is expected to declare St Therese a Doctor of the Church during the World Youth Day in Paris at the weekend.

The Foreign Office has announced the appointment of a new Ambassador to the Holy See.
Mark Pellew LVO will succeed Maureen MacGlashan CMG who is retiring from the Diplomatic Service.
Mr Pellew's appointment, which was approved by the Queen last Tuesday, will commence in January 1998.
