MORE MPs are needed who will change the law on abortion and embryo research urged Phyllis Bowman, director of Society for the Protection of Unborn Children at its annual conference in Manchester last weekend.
Looking forward to the challenge of the next general election, Mrs Bowman warned the 400 delegates that "we have no hope of winning the vote if we don't have the MPs in parliament."
After the disappointment of the recent votes on abortion and embryo research delegates were urged not to be disheartened but to continue and increase efforts to promote pro-life MPs. "We have got to target constituencies,— General Secretary of SPUC John Smeaton told the conference.
