U.K. BISHOPS FOR BOMBAY EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS

Catholic Herald Reporter
THREE Archbishops from England and Wales and one from Ireland may attend the Bombay Eucharistic Congress after Vatican II's second session. Israel's Archbishop Hakim has invited Council Fathers bound for Bombay to join in a pilgrimage to the Holy Land either on the way to India or on their way
home.
Archbishop Heenan of Westminster and Archbishop Beck of Liverpool are definitely going to the Congress, and Archbishop Murphy of Cardiff may be going as well, according to the organisers' bulletin. The Irish representative will be Archbishop Conway of Armagh.
At least 14 Cardinals from four continents will be welcomed at the Congress by India's Cardinal Gracias. It opens on November 28 and will continue to December 6.
Preparations in Bombay are well under way. Language classes are being held in French, German, Italian and Spanish by 25 professors for the "Welcome Guides" and interpreters who will look after foreign visitors.
The Eucharistic Congress Organisation is sponsoring 16 publications. The "Handbook of the 38th Eucharistic Congress" will be a complete guide to the programme and everybody taking part in it
The dance
There will also be a shopping guide naming places and shops where visitors can be sure they will not he fleeced or cheated, together with a guide to the Congress Exhibition, and a pictorial publication on "Catholic Bombay".
Accommodation problems will be enormous, but a big drive is on to find rooms in private houses, and plans are afoot for four ocean liners to berth in Bombay as "float ingA highlight h o els" of the programme will be an Indian classical ballet depicting Eucharistic themes. The general secretary and liaison officer for the Congress, Fr, Herman D'Souza, points out that the Indian classical ballet, from its inception, was devoted LO the exposition of religious themes.
"In India," he said, "most of the people are illiterate and would not be able to read the sacred books, and so they translated them into the form of the dance. The Indian dance is only an alphabet or language, and this medium has been taken up to express the Eucharistic theme idea so that the common people may understand it."
A special attraction will be the seven-storey triangular building called the National Sodality Centre, which will also be the scene of meetings for about 1,000 young men and women dedicated to Catholic Action in free Asia.
Snowmobile bishop
In a chapel at Anchorage, in the Alaskan wilderness, Cardinal Spellman of New York recently consecrated Bishop George Y. Boileau, S.1„ who is to serve as Coadjutor Bishop of Fairbanks. The chapel serves the Jesuit-run Copper Valley School, which serves many Indian and Eskimo villages. Bishop Boileau's means of transport in his visitations will be by dog team, plane and snowmobile.
