Grail workers for Holy Land

TWO members of the London Grail, Miss Helen Breen. of Grail Headquarters, Pinner. Middlesex, and Miss Carol Hunnybun. of Ealing, have left to assist in the work of the Pontifical Mission for Palestine. the Vatican Agency which assists those Arabs who lost their homes and farms during the Arab-Israeli War in 1948.
The refugees now number more than one million two hundred thousand. and of these more than half a million are under 16 years of age. In Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Gaza the Pontifical Mission cooperates with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (LJNRWA) in providing refugees with food. clothing, housing. education, medical and spiritual care.
Already this country has helped the Pontifical Mission through donations from the Catholic Women's League Relief and Refugee Committee, the Oxford COMmittee for Famine Relief (Oxfam) as well as through many personal individual gifts. but this is the first time that the Pontifical Mission for Palestine has had personnel from this country.
