Successors for Bishops of Malankara Rite

Two former Jacobite schismatics have been installed as heads of Catholic dioceses in India. They are Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios of Trivandrum and Bishop Zacharias Mar Athanasios of Tiruvalla.
They constitute the MalankaraRite Catholic Hierarchy, formed in 1932 for about 80,000 Catholic converts from the Jacohite schismatic church of Malabar.
Archbishop Mar Ciregorios. a 39-year-old Madras University graduate, succeeds Archbishop Mar Ivanios, who died in 1953.
Bishop Mar Athanasios succeeds Archbishop Mar Severios, who died in. Tiruvalla in January.
Scientist at 90
Fr. Eduardo Vitoria. S.L. who is celebrating his 90th birthday and at the same time the 50th anniversary of his foundation of the Chemical Institute of Sarria in Spain. has received congratulations from the Holy Father and from scientists all overthe world. More than 1.200 scientists have now studied at the Institute which is run by the Jesuits.
