FRANCISCANS ARE 750 YEARS OLD
FR. AGOSTINO, Minister Gen eral of the Franciscan Order, will renew his vows of poverty, chastity and obedience to the Pope on April 16, the 750th anniversary of the founding of the Order.
The ceremony will commemorate the profession of vows made by St. Francis of Assisi in 1209 to Pope Innocent 111, who approved the rules of the Order. Fr. Agostino's vows will be made on behalf of himself and of the three branches of the Franciscans, the Order of Friars Minor, the Conventual Franciscans and the Capuchins.
Students' vigil
Beginning on Monday night with Stations of the Cross and ending with morning Mass on Tuesday, students of the Exeter University Catholic Society this week held an all-night vigil for the intentions of the Student Cross Movement and in reparation for the sins of students throughout the world.
