blessed hope
IT WAS a shock to read Bishop Lindsay's letter, November 22, not because what he says is news to me or to any of those who know a great deal about the apparitions at Garabandal, and have every reason to believe the supernatural reality of the message and portent of Our Lady's numerous appearances there. It was the realisation that the final judgement on a matter of such tremendous importance can be left in the hands of one man and his chosen commission of enquiry. What of the thousands of those who have seen, heard and believed, including eminent priests, doctors, lawyers etc. etc.? Arc they all victims of illusion and false judgements?
What of the numerous books which have been published and republished in their thousands, are these all lies? What of the conversions, miracles and religious devotion which have been inspired by the events in Garabandal, are we to deny all this and more?
These are the questions that must be asked and answered. To say that Garabandal is 'Condemned officially' may he true in the minds of those who cannot believe in Our Lady's apparitions at Garabandal, but will remain a shining truth and message of hope for those who do believe. The final answer we can safely leave in Our Lady's hands.
