Jesuit priest awarded legal honour

A PROMINENT American Jesuit priest has been awarded one of the country’s most illustrious legal honours.
Fr Robert Drinan, a professor at Georgetown University Law Centre, the author of 11 books, and a former member of Congress, received the American Bar Association’s 2004 ABA Medal, the association’s highest honour. He already has 21 honorary awards.
The medal, which recognises exceptional distinguished service to the cause of American jurisprudence, has been given since 1929 to some of the most important legal figures in American history, including eight Supreme Court justices.
