The Divine Trinity by David Brown (Duckworth £9.95). Yet another brave attempt to show that one can talk about the Trinity without dismissing it as self-contradictory or having to appeal to "mystery".
My First Communion Book by Anthony Bullen (Mayhew McCrimmon L1.25). This attractive booklet includes an introduction to the Eucharist, the Order of Mass and some simple everyday prayers. The Gospel Passions (Geoffrey Chapman £5.95). A beautifully printed and bound lectern edition of the Passion narratives. Every church should have one — or one hundred, depending on the extras in the drama.
Holy Bible — New International Version (Hodder & Stoughton £16.95 & Leather /29.95). Central to this new edition is the comprehensive chain reference system, giving two columns of references in the margins on every page. Other study aids include outline studies of books and figures, archeological supplement, short concordance and a 16-page colour bible atlas.
Good News Bible (Bible Societies/Collins £6.95). Special features in this edition include an introduction to each book of the Bible, cross references, colour photographs, line illustrations, an outline chart of Bible history, a glossary, an index of important subjects.
The Hodder Bible Handbook by Unger & Larson (Hodder & Stoughton £14.95). Three books in one: a hook-by-book Bible commentary, an encyclopaedia of biblical facts, including a summary of Church history, a Bible atlas. The text is complemented by over 500 full colour photographs and illustrations.
Know Your Bible — Workbooks 3 & 4 (Inter-Varsity press £1.25). These booklets offer a variety of studies, including history and biography, and range from Abraham to John's Good News. Down to earth and relevant, they tackle subjects like temptation, mission, marriage and divorce.
