THE IMPORTATION of embryonic stem cells for scientific research is ethically inadmissible, Germany's bishops have declared.
The bishops' permanent council called on politicians to defend human life when the Bundestag meets to decide on the matter.
A statement was issued after Catholic and Evangelical leaders expressed their opposition to embryonic stem cell research.
