"HEIL HITLER!" AUSTRIAN BISHOPS ADVISE THEIR PEOPLE

THE BISHOPS OF AUSTRIA HAVE ISSUED A SOLEMN PROCLAMATION WHICH WAS READ IN ALL THE CUURCHES OF AUSTRIA LAST SUNDAY.
The Proclamation, it is stated by the German News Agency, was sent to Herr
Burckel, High Commissioner for the plebiscite, with this covering letter:
" I beg to send you the enclosed statement. You will see from it that we Bishops have fulfilled spontaneously and without
pressure our national duty. I know that this statement will be followed by a harmoni,Inc cnIlaboration.
"Heil Hitler!
tSigaeuf Cardinal Innitzer, " Archbishop."
The proclamation declares: (1) The age-long aspirations of the Austrian people towards German unity is being realised at this very moment.
(2) Hitler's delegate, Herr Burckel, promises to deal justly with the Church.
(3) The National-Socialist movement has accomplished marvels in the spheres of racial, economic and social reconstruction.
(4) It has also averted the danger of Bolshevism.
(5) The Bishops wish well to the National-Socialist movement.
(6) The Bishops regard it as a national duty incumbent on themselves and on all Catholics, to vote for the union with Germany.
