Mgr. Cardijn 's thanksgiving
More than 1,000 members of the Portuguese Young Catholic Workers' Association turned up at the Lisbon airport to welcome Mgr. Joseph Cardijn, founder of the Young Christian Workers, on his way to make a pilgrimage in Fatima.
Mgr. Cardijn said he was making the pilgrimage in thanksgiving for his recovery from two recent operations.
Canon Cardijn also said he had gone to Portugal "to thank Our Lady of Fatima for all that she has done for the Young Christian Workers and to ask her to continue to protect Belgian youth and youth all over the world."
