Condom row hits Catholic journal

BY VIVIANE HEWITT LEADING CATHOLIC
journal has been cited in a legal case on charges of "psychological terrorism" for describing the use of condoms in the fight against AIDS as "the fraud of the century".
Catholic Studies featured an article by Dutch Professor Johannes Lelkens, which contained findings illustrating the "underside" of the world campaign against AIDS.
The professor accused the AIDS industry of pursuing vast financial interests, while concealing the serious scientific limitations of the use of condoms. These scientific limitations that the Professor refers to, are the size of the pores in a condom that are not small enough to block the virus.
Manufacturers in Italy have been quick to refute the Professor's theory. They report that the Hepatitis B virus, the smallest sexually transmissible virus, and HIV viruses are still too big to filter through.
And Italy's gay rights group has announced that it is taking legal action against Catholic Studies, which it claims has caused needless worry to the public. The group's criticism has been echoed by the Italian AntiAids League.
