of the Millennium Dome, were unveiled on Monday, writes Luke Coppen.
The zone, formerly known as the Spirit Zone, will explore the beginnings of Christianity and its impact on Britain over the past 2000 years. It will also look at the other faiths present in Britain today and will contain a "contemplation space" housed beneath a futuristic canopy.
The Dome's organisers have finally secured the £4million needed to construct the zone. The largest contributor is the Laing Family Trusts, which has donated £2million.
The £758m Millennium Dome will be open seven days a week from January 1, 2000. Tickets will cost £20 for a single adult and £57 for a family and it is expected to attract 12 minion visitors.
However, according to an NOP survey for GMTV this week three out of four people believe the Dome is a waste of money.
